Lib Dems celebrate 'common sense' parking victory
Liberal Democrats in Hartlepool are celebrating after the council's leading Reform administration has announced a u-turn on recently implemented town centre parking charges, with the administration pledging in a Facebook post to return the town's popular "free after three" parking scheme.
The Liberal Democrats have been campaigning against the parking charges since their introduction, and are pleased Reform have back-tracked on the parking charges.
Liberal Democrat campaigner for Foggy Furze, Connor Stallard, said:
“This is a victory for common sense. At a time when our high streets are already struggling due to this disastrous Labour government, Reform's parking charges just made no sense!
Local businesses deserve better than this Reform administration gambling with the future of our town.”
