'Chaos' at the Council as Reform leader calls quits after just four months.

Town's Liberal Democrats are calling for the next leader to 'put the town first'.

Following today’s announcement that Reform's Leader of Hartlepool Borough Council will be stepping down, the town's Liberal Democrats are calling on his successor to 'put the town first' and commit to the job.

The outgoing Leader has been in post for less than four months, despite previously promising to take the town in a 'positive direction'.

Liberal Democrat campaigner for Foggy Furze, Connor Stallard, said:

"It's a shock that after less than four months on the job Reform's Leader has called it quits. Hartlepool deserves better than a failing Labour government, and a Reform Council shifting direction after less than four months.

Whoever is elected as the next Leader needs to crack on and deliver for Hartlepool and put an end to the chaos, and if Reform can't or don't want to run the council, then they had best all step down and allow for fresh elections."
